Summer Ready + Organizing - May 2024
How are we already halfway through May? This month has gone by so fast and as soon as we know it summer will be here.
I would like to share 3 things that I do to get my house ready for the summer season as a working mom with two very active girls:
Pantry clean out, check for expiration dates, and make sure the foods we have align with our health goals. Designating a specific zone for snacks so that they are available during the endless snaking summer days.
Swimwear try-ons to ensure swimsuits are still fitting and good to wear this summer. This is also a great time to donate any summer clothes from past years that no longer fit. In the mudroom, we have a bin that is used for winter and summer essentials which gets switched to summer this time of year.
Paper clutter truly should be dealt with weekly but life happens and paper easily accumulates even in a professional organizer's home. Having one designated and labeled bin or basket for all incoming paper has been life-changing. All paper lives in this bin and once it's full that's an indication to edit.

Lastly, I would like to introduce you to a local business I visited this week Fillagreen is a zero-waste store and refill shop offering earth-friendly soaps, detergents, bath and body product refills, and other plastic-free products.
